The Advisory Board of the Center for Children and Theology is pleased to announce the appointment of Anita Vincent, ThD as the Director of the Center for Children and Theology.

Dr. Vincent was selected after a comprehensive and thorough search process and review of numerous qualified candidates. The Advisory Board identified her as the ideal candidate to lead the Center through its next phase of growth and development. With her extensive background in education, theology, and catechesis, Dr. Vincent brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to nurturing spiritual growth in both children and adults.

“Anita Vincent’s intelligence, training, experience, and enthusiasm make her an excellent leader for the Center for Children and Theology as we enter a new chapter. She is deeply committed to the Center’s roots in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, in its broad openness to many expressions of faith, and in all it has to offer children and families in a world hungry for the spiritual life,” said Catherine Powell, the secretary of the CCTheo Advisory Board.

Dr. Vincent’s position as Director of Education and Formation at St. Theresa’s Parish in Pennsylvania, along with her experience as Director of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd at Grace Montessori School and her nearly ten-year history of leading CGS Formation courses, highlights the leadership and in-depth catechetical knowledge she will contribute as Director.

We look forward with hope as Dr. Vincent leads the Center into its next chapter. And we are grateful for 30 years of leadership from our founder, Catherine Maresca. Catherine will still work on some projects at the Center but is happy to step away from administration to take more time to delight in the awe and wonder of her grandchildren. You will hear more from her this year!

As 2025 begins, let us welcome Dr. Vincent’s visionary tenure with anticipation of the inspiration, cultivation, and evolution to come!
