Atrium Assistants Orientation · Sept 2024

This online course will cover the key points for an atrium assistant serving children 3-12 years old, including:

  • Introduction to the spirituality of Children
  • Orientation to the space
  • Orientation to the Montessori approach
  • Orientation to the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)
  • Helping children through transitions.

We invite assistants preparing to work in the atrium, curious parents who want to know more about CGS, and catechists who will be preparing their assistants to work with them.

Name and email of catechist you will be affiliated with required. An overview will be shared with your lead catechist (if applicable) to help you align with each other.

Three Thursday evening sessions · Sept 12, 19, and 26

Time: 7:30pm-9pm EDT · Q & A to follow 9pm-9:30pm

Group discounts available. ($75 each for 2 or more from the same atrium. Enter code ASSISTANTSGROUP at checkout for the group discount)

This orientation will take place with a minimum of 14 participants and a maximum of 23. Register now to reserve your spot.

Led by Catherine Maresca with Holly Champoux.

Catherine Maresca is founder and director of the Center for Children and Theology in Washington, DC, where she researches the spiritual life of children and prepares resources for children and adults. She has been a catechist in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for 32 years at Christian Family Montessori School and has been training catechists since 1985.

Holly Champoux is Faith Formation Director and Levels 1 and 2 CGS catechist at Prince of Peace Parish in Muskegon, MI.
