“Who Is God?” Parents told us what they are most curious about when living their faith with children. One of their biggest challenges is talking with children about faith – it can seem daunting. Children’s minds can be such mysteries. How do children think about God? And how can parents and caregivers talk about God with children in honest and helpful ways?
Over decades, informed by Dr. Montessori and the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, our team, led by Rebecca Malone, has developed insights about what resonates with children’s deepest needs and desires. In this FREE short, self-paced course, we explore what children’s art can reveal about their faith by looking closely at several original drawings. Next, we suggest picture books for caregivers to enjoy with children. These books inspire wonder about what it means to know God as creator. We are eager to share this work with you and your community. Stay in touch and let us know what you think and what you hear from them!
Looking ahead, the next self-paced course to be released is centered on children’s prayer. These short, simple videos are accompanied by easily accessible activities. Again we are offering this as a FREE, self-paced course. We want to support families by equipping caregivers to take a first step in bringing prayer more deeply into their routine.
Later this winter, we will offer a course takes a deeper dive into observation and contemplation. Over eight weeks, this facilitated journey will help a cohort of parents enter into a prayerful understanding of God’s graces at work in their children, using insights gained from Montessori practice and the tradition of scripture.
